If you choose to stay in our centrally located apartments, you will be immediately immersed in the lively island of Ortigia, just a few steps from the Temple of Apollo, the characteristic fish and local produce market, the Cathedral of Santa Lucia, the Aretusa fountain and the sea. Walking through the picturesque alleys of Ortigia, you will have the opportunity to taste typical Sicilian cuisine and pastry and browse through the colorful ceramic shops.
Not only Ortigia, but also the Greek Theater is easily reachable and, if you love nature and the sea, you can discover the wonderful fine sandy beaches of Avola, San Lorenzo di Noto, Fontane Bianche and Calamosche, as well as the Vendicari nature reserve.
Syracuse is also the ideal starting point for visiting nearby Noto and its extraordinary Baroque, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and all of eastern Sicily, from the fascinating Catania, to the elegant Taormina and the Etna Park, the highest volcano in Europe.
