Location is great - 5 min from the bridge, and like everywhere in Ortigia, it is close to everything. Our hostess was easily reachable and responded quickly. TV in bedroom did not work. TV in living room was hard to figure out but worked. The bedroom reeked of smoke when we arrived, maybe because of smokers in the area right outside the bedroom window. Midway through our stay we asked for new towels and these were delivered the same day, but the wet ones were not removed, so we had a pile of wet/stinking towels for 2 days. This is out of the host’s control, but a cat that lives in the shared space behind the bedroom is extremely loud and yowls all night. I have never heard a cat that loud before. It kept us awake, but as I said it’s not the host’s cat, Notes for visitors to Ortigia/Siracusa from the US (not new to us, but might be to you) : you cannot drink the tap water so you must buy bottled water. You cannot put anything down the toilet that doesn’t come out of your body (no toilet paper!) so put TP into the garbage can and learn to use the bidet.

Ottima la posizione e accogliente la struttura de La Corte di Aretusa, ubicata in un vicolo del centro storico di Ortigia facilmente raggiungibile da ogni parte dell’isola. Ci siamo veramente trovati bene nella casetta che abbiamo sentito subito come “nostra” dal primo momento del nostro arrivo. Conserveremo sempre un bel ricordo. Da evidenziare inoltre l'allettante prezzo, la disponibilità e cortesia della proprietaria Barbara. Translate this text

Questa casa famiglia si é rivelata una vera chicca! Arredata con gusto ed eleganza, bella anche nei minimi particolari, bagno grande e veramente comodo, é situata al centro di Ortigia e quindi puoi raggiungere tutto velocemente. In più c'é da aggiungere la cortesia e disponibilità della signora Barbara che ci ha accompagnati in sede al nostro arrivo, ci ha fatto trovare parcheggio, ci ha subito suggerito come muoverci ad Ortigia, ed é sempre stata in contatto con noi quando abbiamo chiesto qualche suggerimento. C'é tutto il necessario anche per cucinare, due Tv, condizionatore, nonostante la casa sia abbastanza fresca, collegamento internet ottimo. Siamo stati bene e lo consigliamo vivamente! Nei giorni 1 e 2 Luglio siamo stati ospiti della Casa vacanze Corte di Aretusa. La proprietaria signora Barbara è il punto di forza della struttura. La sua naturale simpatia mette subito a proprio agio. L’appartamento a pochi passi dal centro è molto grazioso, pulito e fornito di tutti i confort. Consigliatissimo. Speriamo di poter ritornare.
