Villa Altair is located in the city of Mazara del Vallo, Trapani’s province, in Sicily (Italy). It is the extreme south of Europe and, in addition to it’s proximity with Africa, it’s located in plain Mediterranean Sea.

Even located on the tranquillity of the country side, just 2 km ahead, we arrive in the historical city centre where we can notice a clearly persistence of the Muslin culture. Also in the same place we find the Museum of the Satyr (a Greek bronze statue “caught” in 1998 by a Mazara fishing boat in the Sicilian Channel, which seems to be a satyr dancing.

The city is also strategic point to go to the natural beauties of the Mediterranean Sea (as the Reserve WWF of Capo Feto and Gorghi Tondi, the Zingaro’s Reserve, the islands of Pantelleria and Lampedusa, the Egadi’s Islands, the Salinas of Marsala and Trapani, etc.), as well as the remainings of the ancient civilizations (archaeological complex of Selinunte and Segesta, the cities of Mozia and Erice, the Caves of Cusa, the Temples of Agrigento, etc.)

Un logement très confortable et spacieux, dans un beau bâtiment au milieu des vignes. De très bons et copieux petits-déjeuners. A proximité de Mazara del Vallo et proche du magnifique site de Selinonte et des belles plages attenantes. La struttura è un tipico baglio siciliano ben riorganizzato e modernizzato, con terrecotte, pezzi di antiquariato e pietra siciliana che valorizzano tutti gli ambienti. Degni di nota la pulizia e la gentilezza di Maria Grazia che ci ha fatto sentire subito ben accolti e ci ha dato ottime indicazioni per la scoperta del territorio! La Colazione, eccellente, fa gustare prodotti tipici siciliani. La piscina è veramente particolare! La posizione della struttura inoltre permette di raggiungere i posti più belli della zona. La struttura è un baglio dell'800, immersa tra le vigne e gli ulivi del mazzarese, molto tranquilla e quindi perfetta per chi vuole rilassarsi e staccare dalla routine quotidiana. Se si vuole si può passare la sera a guardare le stelle a bordo piscina con un calice di vino (prodotto proprio dalla struttura: cantine Giglio). L'unica pecca è stata il check-in e la comunicazione iniziale. Chi ci ha accolti è stato un po' troppo frettoloso e confusionale, non c'è stato nessun servizio di benvenuto (banalmente anche una bottiglia d'acqua) nonstanate la struttura abbia grandissime potenzialità. Il soggiorno è stato perfetto, ma ritengo che si potrebbe investire di più sull'accoglienza, a mio avviso un po' 'imprecisa', e così sui servizi che offre la struttura: la visita delle cantine, la storia del baglio, la degustazione dei vini prodotti, magari con degli abbinamenti di taglieri di accompagnamento. Invece lo staff che si è occupato del nostro soggiorno, della degustazione e del checkout è stato più che disponibile e cordiale! Translate this text

Tipica struttura locale di campagna recentemente ristrutturata. A cena siamo stati ospiti dei gestori in un clima di familiarità e ospitalità veramente eccezionali oltre all'ottimo cibo cucinato nel forno a legna della villa.
