St. Placido Inn is a prestigious eighteenth century attic in the core of the historical centre, close to Cathedral square. It is located at 3 km from the airport, at 1 km from railway station and 100 metres from the sea side, right in the cultural-historical and commercial centre.

The strategic position of uor home allows to have at hand both the most interesting architectural monuments (Cathedral, Piazza Teatro Massimo, The greek Theatre, Biscari Palace, and so on), and the widest range of offers for the spare time, shopping and entertainments.

Our rooms are wide, bright, quiet and they all enjoy of a wonderful landscape.

Some of them look directly on a big terrace fronting the sea and all of them have a private bathroom in the room.

A wonderful place in the heart of Catania, a fascinating city often by-passed - but it shouldn't be. It's worth spending a week -at least- instead of the two days I was there. Rich history, wonderful food, lively atmosphere and in the case of the tastefully done, perfectly old-fashioned San Placido Inn, a lovely, funny, helpful lady (Valentina - I hope I got your name right!) in charge. The roof-top breakfast patio is especially nice, with the Duomo next door and Etna in the background, and an added bonus is the lift to the 4th floor - no trudging up and down endless stairs, with heavy bags and a bum knee.

Wonderful host of a beautiful B&B in the heart of Catania. The location is wonderful, everything is within walking distance and plenty of eateries around. The B&B is uniquley and beautifully decorated. Rooms were spacious and clean. Beautiful views from the terrace and a generous breakfast. I would highly recommend this property and look forward to my next stay.

We had a very relaxed stay at B&B San Placido Inn. The room we rented was quite spacious and very clean. Every morning we had a delicious breakfast, even the gluten free version was amazing. Thank you for your hospitality!

The B&B is on the 4th floor, so we had a spacey veranda. The view from there was great. The room has enough room and the bath room is good. The lady Pepper is so helpful and the breakfast was more than enough. I think the B&B is one of the best in Catania. Accidentally, we had some noise of song and shout in midnight. We would like to come back if we had a chance.

La Signora Peppa è molto Simpatica e ti fa sentire com’e se fosse casa tua; vicino al’aeroporto e al centro di Catania. Il B&B San Placido inn è un à Bella struttura e pulita. San Placido liegt superzentral und ist dennoch ruhig. Die Zimmer sind nett und funktional eingerichtet. Die Gemeinschaftsbereiche sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet; man fühlt sich wie im Wohnzimmer. Grandios die Dachterrasse mit Blick auf Kathedrale und Hafen. Da man hier auch die praktischen Interessen der Reisenden versteht (z B ein eigenes Bad hat für Gäste, die bereits ausgecheckt haben, aber sich später noch mal frisch machen möchten), habe ich mich dort einfach nur wohlgefühlt. Cupole, campanili, timpani delle chiese barocche e in terrazza tra tante magnificenze, piante rare tra le quali due pomelie, un bel sole siciliano e la eccezionale Peppa che cura la colazione. Marmellate buonissime fette di pane tostate alla perfezione, spremute di arancia (vera) non voglio tornarci, avrei voluto rimanere. La signora Peppa che cura la gestione del B&B sempre attenta a tutte le necessità degli ospiti, ti fornisce preziosi consigli su cosa visitare, dove mangiare e come vivere al meglio la città. Una città viva, allegra, piena di iniziative. In città si mangia dell'ottimo pesce, freschissimo a prezzi competitivi. Centralissimo, ottima posizione. Gentile e cordiale il proprietario. Mia moglie ed io abbiamo scelto questa struttura per la festa di Santa Agata, e devo dire che è stata una scelta felice. L'edificio è un palazzo d' epoca nel centro di Catania, con tutti i pregi ed i difetti di tali edifici. La posizione è eccezionale, a circa 200 metri dal Duomo. La camera dotata di un terrazzo con vista mare. In comune con altri ospiti c'è un giardino d'inverno molto carino, dove viene servita la colazione ed una terrazza con vista sulla cupola del Duomo, da dove abbiamo ammirato i fuochi in onore della Santa, allietati da un aperitivo offerto gentilmente dal nostre ospite.
